A 6-STEP EVENING SKINCARE ROUTINE TO CARE FOR ACNE-PRONE SKIN
Have you already tried our morning skincare routine for acne-prone skin? It’s a different story when you apply overnight skincare. You will need to thoroughly cleanse your skin to get rid of the day’s makeup and grime. The routine includes the essentials (cleansing, moisturizing, and a few extras to help with future breakouts).
1.CLEANSE
It doesn’t matter how tired you are or if you have been wearing makeup. It would help if you washed your face before you went to bed. Face wipes and micellar water alone will not do the trick. Double cleansing is an excellent option for acne-prone skin. This ensures that the skin is super clean. Use an oil-based cleanser such as an oil cleansing oil or balm to remove any makeup, dirt, or grime. Use warm water and a pure flannel to apply to your face for two to three minutes.
2.DOUBLE CLEANSE
This second step provides a deeper cleansing of the skin. It also allows you to use active ingredients such as exfoliating acids and charcoal to target oily and clogged pores. Massage the skin with a gentle circular motion. You may also use an electric cleansing tool for this step. Rinse off with warm water.
3.EXFOLIATE
It is important not toover-exfoliate your skin. This is especially true if you have sensitive skin or are prone to breakouts. These powerful exfoliants, whether a clay mask, acid toner, or an overnight treatment (in which cases skip the next steps), will address long-term problems like stubborn congestion around the jawline, blackheads around your nose, and scarring on your cheeks.
4.TREAT
Concentrated blends of ingredients are used to treat specific skin conditions. Look for ingredients such as glycolic, lactic, salicylic acids, or retinol for evening serums. These ingredients should be applied at night to reduce the skin’s vulnerability to UV rays. Apply the serum to damp skin with your fingertips and gently press in. If you have used exfoliating treatments, skip this step and remember to apply an SPF the next day.
5.MOISTURISE
Healthy skin is healthier skin. Healthy skin is more able to heal and fight breakouts. A gel-cream texture moisturizer is best for hydration. Don’t be tempted by products that are loaded with acne-fighting ingredients. Your skin already has these from your serum, so don’t overdo it. Massage your neck and face with your night cream.
6.TARGET
You may want spot treatments to be absorbed quickly and make you appear invisible in the morning, but you don’t need that concern at night. It would help if you were looking out for heroes such as salicylic Acid, Niacinamide, and zinc. These ingredients help reduce inflammation and remove impacted pores. Apply blemish stickers to remove any spots that are already severed or broken.
