Here are 5 ways to make your summer hair and skin beautiful
Our skin is not ready for summer yet. These tips for skin and hair care may help beat the heat.
It isn’t easy to maintain your hair and skin health, especially during seasonal transitions. The seasons change in harmony with hair and skin. Therefore, self-care routines must be adjusted and changed. Many tips and tricks can be used to adapt your summer beauty routine. We’ve shared some tried and tested, simple and effective tips for skin and hair.
Namrata Reddy (skincare expert and co-founder at Satliva) spoke to HealthShots to explain the risks that seasonal transition poses for our skin. She also discussed ways to deal with the summer heat.
These are some tips for summer skin and hair:
Use sunscreen
Sunburn can be caused by prolonged exposure to the sun’s UV rays. They can penetrate the outer skin layers and reach deeper layers where they can damage and kill skin cells. Reddy says that using sunscreen creams with ingredients such as red raspberry can protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays and help prevent conditions like acne and inflammation.
Take a few minutes to moisturize.
Moisturizers can help protect your skin in the summer. The first step in nourishing and healing skin is moisturizing. Get a moisturizer that contains hemp oil. It locks in the skin’s natural moisture and prevents excess oil production, two important qualities for hot summers.
Modify your diet
Summer is the best time to eat healthy foods. Your diet should include plenty of fruits, vegetables, and other healthy foods. Reddy says that fruits and vegetables are rich in essential vitamins, nutrients and antioxidants. These nutrients and antioxidants boost collagen production, reduce inflammation and protect the skin from the damaging effects the sun can cause.
Haircare is important.
The cuticle (or the outer cover of the hair strand) can be damaged by UVA and UVB rays, leading to dullness and breaking. You can prevent this by using hair cream with moisturizing ingredients such as argan oil or peppermint. These ingredients help protect hair from UV damage and moisturize the scalp. They also promote hair strength.
Use a nourishing shampoo.
Many chemicals are found in store-bought shampoos. Using a shampoo bar instead can help prevent hair damage. A shampoo with activated carbon can be used to cleanse your hair and protect it from the sun’s rays. These five tips will help you get through even the most difficult summers.
